Editorial Shoot- Roxcii

(Rizz and I) carried out a photoshoot for the label Roxcii (www.roxcii.net), We met Frida (the designer) at the FOA cosmetics national costume selection for Miss Universe. One of her dresses will be worn by our Miss Universe Olivia Wells at Moscow for the Miss Universe competition, which is very exciting. It was at that event that she told us she was launching a new catalogue and needed a photoshoot done for the catalogue.
It was my first editorial shoot, There was so many things on our to do list  that needed to be completed prior to the shoot, starting from, metting with the client to discuss number of dresses and the order of the shoot, putting a portfolio together and embedding all  the ideas and clients needs and wants, Picking up dresses from the designer, contacting and emailing different shoe retailers to borrow the perfect shoe for the shoot, (In this case Roxcii wanted Dollhouse), staying up late studying the dresses and mix/ matching accessories with individual dresses at home, visiting to the studio to invent ideas of the backdrop, props, basically planning the set for the editorial shoot. I loved every single bit of it, and i can see myself doing this forever... it was never a dull moment (especially with my partner Riz =)
(Below: At home with the designer dresses i was working with all night long... all the bead work and embelishment was too die for)
(Below: Picking shoes from The Dollhouse it was such a shiny store, it hurt my eye a little bit hehe )

On the day of the shoot- With 2 models, 3 different sets, 36 dresses, with a 2 minute intervals of changing the dresses, accesories and shoes, and after 8 hours of the shoot we finally pulled it off.

(Below is a sneak preview of one of the shots)

I never mixed prints together before. I studied it, and did my research and found ways that i never thought was possible..to experiment, I started out in my wardrobe one night, and decided to give this a go. I would like to share my three most important tips to acheive this look without looking too ridiculous... it is to:

- Pick two prints that have one colourin common
- Play it safe choosing a neutral colour as a home base
- Use the same print in different colours or scales

I think, i am addicted to clashing them prints now=) On one sunday i decided to take few piks to show you guys...Please be mindful that i am still a beginner, Thanks!

Last weekend, was labour day public holiday, also the weekend when daylight saving hit the town. Soo happy! That means i get 1 extra hour before the sun goes down for any outfit shooting. So I took advantage of the daylight and did some styling and took some photos locally of couple of pieces that i put together. It was definitely the day for my Black pleated midi skirt, so i took it out for a stroll...

Face of Australia Event for Miss Universe Australia

I have been privledged to attend a fashion event held by FOA cosmetics in the L'Aqua lounge in Darling Harbour by my friend Rizwan, who is a fashion photographer for his own brand RizzOgraphy. The event was held for choosing of the National costume that is to be worn by our Miss Universe Australia Olivia Wells.
I worked with Rizz backstage and front, he was the man behind the camera for the photography and i was his image styler. It was a wonderful experience, i was honourned to meet Jason Chetcuti the designer of the winning costume that will represent Australia for the Miss Universe event in Moscow.
His design inspiration came from our Australian beaches. I have also met Frida Deguise who is the designer of the label Roxcii, which will also be worn by Olivia in Moscow in November. There were few more fashion designers who were chose to showcase their designs, my second favourite design was one that was an inspiration from the Australian Fauna and Flora as well as the Aborginal artwork. Below is some of the higlights of the day taken by me on my cam...enjoy ;)

PS- I shall post my outfit worn that day soon so stay tuned ;)
